Speaker 1:

Yo, what's good y'all? How y'all doing? We back with another episode of In Another World with your boys, Mo, and I'm here with Kaz. Yo, what's good y'all? We got a spicy episode for y'all. Maybe not so spicy, it's a chill day, I wouldn't call it spicy.

Speaker 2:

I mean, some of the stuff is a little controversial. But spicy might be a little tough.

Speaker 1:

I hope y'all guys are well and all we have might be a little tough.

Speaker 2:

I hope y'all guys are well and all we have been. We've been fine on our new, been good bro. Life funny. I don't like it, but it's funny. Does that count?

Speaker 1:

I mean, hey, it's, it's something. It's also um fall now crazy.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I used to like the in-between periods of like.

Speaker 1:

When the weather's transitioning.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, but I developed asthma. Now I got all these new allergies and it seems like the trees are trying to kill everybody. I'm good bro, I just want winter to get here. Nah, nah, nah, nah. Look I hate the summer, I like the winter.

Speaker 1:

Summer's only good for certain things though.

Speaker 2:

Hey bro, I can't go outside and keep taking clothes off. I can put as much clothes as the fuck I want on for winter, yup man just stay fall. Fall's the best season anyway, no it's hoodie season, I can't even keep my windows open for what in fall? Yes, if I'm not hopped up on allergy medication, bro.

Speaker 1:

I can't even keep my windows open. For what?

Speaker 2:

In fall. Yes, if I'm not hopped up on allergy medication, bro, like I'm constantly in a state of Zyrtec.

Speaker 1:

Damn.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Okay.

Speaker 2:

See, that's your problem though.

Speaker 1:

But for me fall is the better season.

Speaker 2:

It's very what do they call it? What Subjective. It's very subjective, that's a fact. Fall is better. Yeah, you, you got it, bro, you got it. I think that's the thing I learned this year. Stop arguing with me, first lesson of 2024. Stop stop fighting with motherfuckers.

Speaker 1:

It ain't worth it I mean hey, man, you live longer. You got it, bro fall greatest season ever we can all agree, though, that spring is pretty ass, though.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, because then you're going into summer and you really know that it's as hot. I was born in December. Don't judge me, I see so that's why you like it so much. I came from Jamaica. I came here. It was snowing the day I came to America. I swear to God, when did you come over? I was like 12.

Speaker 1:

No, no, not when. Like what age, though? But like oh, oh, oh.

Speaker 2:

Actually, this is two different stories. The first time I came was in the summer. The time I came to live, it was pushing winter and it had been. It wasn't like a snowstorm or nothing. It wasn't like OD, but it was my. I'm Jamaican. It's my first time seeing snow, so yeah so it was lit. I fell in love with snow and I fell in love with the winter seasons and I just like it snow is good for like the first couple of days, and then it's annoying after that oh, I've seen it in both places.

Speaker 2:

I've seen it when it's like like when I lived in maryland, snow was lit Because it would look crazy, it would look so cool, and that was very nice In New York. After a while it starts to get annoying.

Speaker 1:

So I respect that.

Speaker 2:

I share that opinion. It takes too long.

Speaker 1:

Does dirt brown snow everywhere? New York is just a dirty place.

Speaker 2:

To be honest, it is 100% yeah. We're probably like 3 inches from acid rain. You're just cooking. Yeah, yeah, we're probably like three inches from acid rain. You're just oh, geez, all right. So yeah, how have you been?

Speaker 1:

You good, I'm good bro. You know I can't complain. Just another day. We also got the question of last two weeks, or our last two episodes?

Speaker 2:

that's been the same question. Yeah, yeah, we're just gonna. Let's just get straight into it, bro we got.

Speaker 1:

You know the vibes, I know how it is. So the question of the episode from again last episode what's your favorite manga panel that got animated and what's your favorite anime scene? And or, or, and, or, and, an, or Whichever one you know how sometimes.

Speaker 2:

Arr, I'm sorry, my brain just did a backflip because something happened in my peripheral vision. You want to start it off? Yeah, I'll kick it off. Well, I got a couple One from Saif, oh OK, and one from Brian. I'll start with Brian because I like Brian. I feel like everybody's going to be able to relate to Brian's because you know, we're all I don't want to say we're all roughly the same age, but in our friend group we are, so we all kind of experience things at the same time.

Speaker 2:

His favorite is when Lee fought Gaara in the tuning exam. It was one of his first times experiencing manga and then, like the next year, joint got animated and we all remember what a show Lee vs Gar was. So yeah, I think that's a pretty clean pick. I'm just saying, bro, watching him drop the weights and then boom.

Speaker 1:

Yep, hold my weights.

Speaker 2:

Hey bro, hold my beer brother.

Speaker 1:

Drunken Fizzly was good too, though, with the fight against. What was his name? Was it Kimi Maru?

Speaker 2:

See, I wasn't reading Naruto at that time, so I don't even know. I didn't start reading manga until I was in like 11th, nope, 10th grade, damn bro. Yeah, to be fair, that was like my fourth year in America. I hadn't even had made like friends friends yet. Yeah, yeah, I was in a library, found some manga in the section I was reading a bunch of stuff, bro, that was in the library. Yeah, like school library or yeah, like all my lunch breaks I wouldn't really hang out in the lunchroom. I had friends that I know what I said I mean, I had friends, no friends.

Speaker 1:

He ain't no friends.

Speaker 2:

He's lying to y'all shout out to my high school friends. Shout out to my high school friends Jonathan, sasha, aj, oya, y'all cool as hell.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, anyway.

Speaker 2:

Anyway, yeah, I used to go up there to like Go on the computers and stuff, because I didn't have a computer at home. So I used to do all my manga reading, research, all that stuff up there.

Speaker 1:

When you first said it like that, you had me thinking that like they just actually had like a fucking shonen jump up in there.

Speaker 2:

No, no, no, no, no, there was On a computer. No, they had a section for manga they did. Yeah, damn my high school was weird, bro, my high school was weird.

Speaker 1:

I mean hey at least we had a library in your high school. Mine's didn't, don't worry use it Would have been used for other things, though, but yeah.

Speaker 2:

That is fair, yo. The dots just said oh my god, yeah, no point is 10th grade, I think. Uh, actually, I'll give you one of mine, because this was actually really fire. Very, I wasn't gonna plan to like use this one personally, but it's related to the story, so I'll just drop it.

Speaker 2:

Uh, one of mine is when naruto saw hinata get packed and thought she was dead oh, when he was fighting open pain yes, I remember reading this in the library, seeing the reaction, seeing the transformation, and then coming back the next week because I think it was a cliffhanger and it was just the orb joint shooting in the air in the manga for like the last page or so and then the next week I was back there and then when it got animated, I was like that was my first experience with sakuga and I was just like jesus, this is glorious. And then years later people were like this is so such bad animation. I'm like what were you see? Did you see how his face did the thing? And it was like stretching. I'm like, oh my god, this is way cool in the manga man pain was looking cartoonish he was looking cartoonish.

Speaker 1:

I actually really liked the animation personally but those freeze frames man, they was not giving him any justice nah man, he became a meme and it's okay no pain no pain, yeah, no pain, all right all right what you got this comes from dg, but he said, um, to be fair, chainsaw man has a lot of panels, and I agree that's actually one of the things I was bringing up.

Speaker 1:

But this, what I'm bringing about with Chainsaw man, technically isn't animated yet, though, but it's good though. What he says, though, is his recent buy and see is going over to Dandodon.

Speaker 2:

Oh, wait, he watched it.

Speaker 1:

Well, no, this is talking about manga panels, because he's been reading it lately, did you? I'm going to fight you. You didn't even answer the question.

Speaker 2:

Bo. No, this is talking about manga panels, because he's been reading it lately Did you, I'm going to fight you.

Speaker 1:

You didn't even answer the question he did, he did. He actually put down a bunch of stuff, but his main one that he was going with was Alphonse Full Metal. Alphonse fighting Ooh, hold on, he was fighting what you call it. Another one he was fighting um what you call it. Another one one was alphonse fight, but he was also pointed out the mustang versus lust I never read full metal.

Speaker 2:

He just made me want to read full metal, because that is what made me watch full metal what mustang?

Speaker 1:

versus lust?

Speaker 2:

yes, no, not lust. Envy versus envy. Yeah, the walk down made me watch full metal with the snap. That was actually my first experience with full metal mustang versus lust the snapping I was like oh man, hit her with that snap crackle pop. That's crazy that was a good one. That one did definitely look very nasty in the anime yeah, nah, it was crazy I can't imagine in the manga seared flesh. I wonder what his art style is like well, her, her.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, you didn't know nope, no clue yeah, nah, the creator is a woman I'm not gonna hold you.

Speaker 2:

I never know who's a woman from a man when it comes to this stuff ah, you just be knowing um, you just don't be knowing I know the names, don't know their faces. Also some japanese names I can't tell uh unisex with it. Yeah, because some of them you will like have the same name, but one for a boy, one for I just don't make assumptions and I just enjoyed it and I know who wrote it. When it comes time for me to look it up, I'll look it up another one.

Speaker 1:

This comes from him, though, but it was a funny scene of chainsaw man with um and I'm gonna post this up in the um. Sorry, excuse me. I'm gonna post this up on the socials because he posted it, but just for the listeners, so that way they can um, just at least get a picture. But it's pretty much chainsaw man holding a cat, and he's like it was a cat too dude. I would post it up for y'all, though, but pretty much just chainsaw man holding up a cat I can't even be mad at it.

Speaker 2:

there's a so much of the simplest panels in Chainsaw man just deserve all the budget. I'm not going to lie. There's one scene that I'm expecting, and if it's not animated like it's an actual movie, I'm going to be so mad. What's the scene? The Aki by the door scene. Oh Bro, what's the scene? The? Aki by the door scene. Bro. If that joint ain't the most suspenseful crazy animation, I'm going to be so mad. I'm going to be so mad bro.

Speaker 1:

I already have like several shots or several scenes that I would like to see animated from.

Speaker 2:

Chainsaw Bro. This reason a movie is going to be so good too it is. So good.

Speaker 1:

Also just the simple fact that it's a movie is going to be so good too. It is so good Also just the simple fact that it's a movie, so you already know Mappas going to throw. Budget at that.

Speaker 2:

I like Chainsaw man, you couldn't tell.

Speaker 1:

Very confused right now, but I like Chainsaw man.

Speaker 2:

In the manga, just in general reading chainsaw man, just generally confused I think that's the crazy part is chainsaw man.

Speaker 1:

Would definitely have you confused genuinely confused, genuinely confused um but it's not a taxi mood um taxi mojo of work, if you're not confused.

Speaker 2:

Scratching your head, bro, scratching your head. The other one, saif, is also from Naruto. I should have probably mentioned this. The reason Brian started reading manga is because of Saif. So Saif was, and I totally agree with this. I personally, personally, if you made me make a list of fights in anime in general- top five or top three?

Speaker 1:

top two oh damn, yes, okay kakashi versus obito in the war I don't recall how it looked in the manga with it, though, but I will agree that the anime choreography for it was the crack bro, so spectacular, so spectacular.

Speaker 2:

The callbacks, the choreography, the speed, the lighting, bro, it was just so good, really messed with it, and it brought so much to the characterization of the characters.

Speaker 1:

You really felt the emotions yeah, um, they didn't have any sound playing other than like the fizz being exchanged on.

Speaker 2:

Um, and it was an animated scene, right yeah, very similar to when, uh, near the conclusion of naruto and sasuke's fight, where it was just sound effects there's no talking, there's no dialogue, maybe a little grunting, maybe a little grunting, but besides that, nothing else. Um, and it was just clean, bro.

Speaker 2:

I agree with you, saif, that one is a1, um, the one I was gonna choose, and if you know me, you probably already know this answer already I think I know where this is going I don't want to embarrass you in case you don't know, so I won't ask you to guess, but it is from Ennie's Lobby, and if you disagree with me and you're a One Piece fan, you are fake Fake. I still don't think this moment has been topped in One Piece. I want to live At all. This made her one of my favorite One Piece characters. Yes, I want to live, I want to live, I want to live. Moment at the top of Eni's lobby Shoot that flag down sniper.

Speaker 2:

The only time I like this bastard is when he's wearing that mask. Damn, and he's all bastard. I said what I said. Usopp just needs to be Sniper. King is what you're saying. He needs to work it out.

Speaker 1:

Once he works it out you'll get some love from me, maybe in this new arc, maybe I don't know.

Speaker 2:

I think that's why I'm so agitated, bro Arc, just you know what. God forgive me. I'm going to stop Anyway, yeah, but no that moment. Also, you know what I don't think anything else is really touching my spirit. Nothing else is really touching my spirit, man.

Speaker 1:

I mean, hey, that's fair.

Speaker 2:

Damn. Please Animate something that touches my spirit. The way I want to live touches my spirit. Somebody I want to live. Somebody Make me feel something. To be fair, if I'd probably read your lie in april before watching it, I'd probably be weeping like a baby but you think that would translate well.

Speaker 1:

Um, if you were to read it first, bro.

Speaker 2:

I love slice of life manga. I've spent whole nights reading like 60 chapters of a joint. You know, my dress-up darling, hit my feet and I was just like crazy and I was waiting forever to get the last four chapters.

Speaker 1:

So that's what I'm at. Wait a minute. It's over with Nope, it's not over. So wait a minute. Which like is it even in its final stage? It?

Speaker 2:

is hitting the end, don't worry about it.

Speaker 1:

Okay.

Speaker 2:

I'm not going to be too specific, but it's getting near the climax. Okay, okay, yep, yep, yep, a little disappointed, but you know, oh, that's his life, damn, yeah, uh, anyway, uh, what's yours?

Speaker 1:

levi versus kenny and his squad.

Speaker 2:

This is like um on season three, part one no, I know which one you're talking about, I just never read attack on time yeah, I read near the end to see if I can get the understanding that I needed. I feel a little bit better. Still very confused, but feel a little bit better. Feel a little bit better. That is a good one, though. That boy, levi, was vicious to be fair.

Speaker 1:

Levi on the screen is always going to be cold. It is absolutely cold.

Speaker 2:

Oh, you know what? What I got to show some love Mugetsu, mugetsu, the final Getsu Gaten show. Actually, that whole thing, that whole thing, that whole thing. I remember reading that joint I didn't watch bleach.

Speaker 1:

Near the end I read it.

Speaker 2:

Obviously you know you can skip most of it, you can skip most of the end and just go to the part where he comes back from the I forgot that.

Speaker 1:

Um, I forgot what it's called.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it's like the in-between realm between soul society did all the last training arc. Yeah, bro, I'm just going to put it out there. I have not felt as hype for something as when he said, yeah, no, we're not doing this here. Bro, now I'm not down. Grab that grown man by the face.

Speaker 1:

I was like hold on.

Speaker 2:

He was like I can't even sense your Put me down my legs. I'm a grown man. You can't have me swinging my legs like this crazy. Yeah, that whole final thing was crazy, the whole like oh, you think that's your sword? No, no, no, no, that was me. That mountain blowing up, that was me. You ain't got the juice, you ain't got the sauce. It was good. I think that's the other one I would pick.

Speaker 1:

I think it's criminal, mainly because this didn't get animated, but I think if it got animated it would go hard. Um, this is from Soul Eater, though, but the trio versus um, damn what? The um, jin Keishin, keishin. Yeah, seeing the fact that we already got that Fist of Bravery, nonsense, crap, they killed it.

Speaker 2:

I don't even want to talk about this.

Speaker 1:

I think this year was like the 25th anniversary of the manga, a lot of people were hype, expecting a brotherhood thing just remake it bro at this point.

Speaker 2:

They should, everybody wants it fire forces ending. You made the ties, just redo it. We love you for it because we like soul eater.

Speaker 1:

Soul eater was cracked as hell.

Speaker 2:

Oh man, they dropped that there were so many likable characters in that joint, bro. Unfortunately, Excalibur is one of them. I said it.

Speaker 1:

Excalibur.

Speaker 2:

Oh man, that was a good show though.

Speaker 1:

It was Damn man, damn man Just blew up. But yeah, if they did ever, if we ever get like a Brotherhood up-to-date version of that, that would be dope to see that fight Everybody going into madness, whooping ass.

Speaker 2:

All right, so now that we got through the question of the week, finally, it's been a minute though.

Speaker 1:

It's been a minute yeah.

Speaker 2:

Just let it happen. Let it happen. Let's transition into Speed Blitz, because it's not as junky as last time, but I feel like some of the stuff is more interesting. Yeah, last time was definitely the whole damn episode.

Speaker 1:

Probably shouldn't have called that a Speed Blitz. At that point I like nah.

Speaker 2:

I think we made this joke with the Blitz. I like it. That might be the new name.

Speaker 1:

But this one, the list, is a little bit light this time around. We got a whole bunch of news between now and then that had happened. Apparently, power World is being sued by Nintendo.

Speaker 2:

Light but controversial. Not gonna lie, I'm a little upset about this personally. But a free, free power, bro, free power, i'ma play it, just don't shut down the servers. Nintendo, like, take a little bit of the pockets, not all the pockets, all right, before we go off on a tangent, let me just explain what's going on yes, go on.

Speaker 1:

What they're getting sued for all right.

Speaker 2:

So everybody on the expectation when power came out was nintendo's gonna come after you. Why? Because the joke was lucario. What was the name of that? Joint anubis? Is that actually the name? That's the name. The last creativity is crazy. They put all their eggs into the basket of guns and I love it, very American. Sign me up for more. No, but that was basically the running joke, right? Mm-hmm, nintendo had no grounds Pokemon with guns.

Speaker 2:

Exactly. Nintendo had no grounds to do anything about that. Everybody knew that People would just love making the joke, which is fine. But what Nintendo does have the grounds to do is sue for patents, and unfortunately, they have patents on the capture system, the base of the capture system that is used in pokemon, as well as the uh surf fly that mechanic, the whole riding your pokemon mechanic. Yeah, there's a patent on that too.

Speaker 2:

I'm not sure which one of these happened first, but fact check me if you like it. I don't care, that's fine. That's what we're here for sharing knowledge. Teach me something if I don't know something, but from what I read, uh, the one of the patents from 2022, which is fairly recent, but pre-development of power world. Now, another of the patents again I don't know which one this is was in 2024. Now, that may be the one that they can't really get away with, but I feel like the 2022 one's probably going to cost them something. They may have to, and usually, what this happened, what this turns out to be, it's not like a shutdown of the game.

Speaker 1:

They might have to just change up how the mechanic of it is.

Speaker 2:

Exactly, which is kind of shaky for a game like Palo Alto because it's so mechanic dependent. If they remove the cap, I think the capture mechanic that's the one I would bet is the one from 2022, because it's the more critical to the gameplay. I think if that gets hit, power World kind of loses its identity in a way and they have to find a way to not take out a mechanic but introduce a completely new mechanic of how to capture creatures, which will require overhaul of the game, which could kill the game, because that would cost a significant amount of money. I mean, yeah, costly. You're going to be paying for the lawsuit, you're going to be paying for the legal bills and then you're going to be paying to change the game. Stuff like this can kill games, which is the big problem that people are having with this.

Speaker 2:

Now. There's a huge emphasis on intellectual property in Japan and ownership of intellectual property, which is why I think this is such a big deal for Nintendo to go out and make the efforts to sue the developers of Palworld. Inverse to that is the idea that sharing knowledge, sharing ideas, is integral to developing a space yeah, this space being the gaming space, not gamers, but developers. Let's be real here. Pokemon has cornered the market for decades, literally Decades.

Speaker 1:

I think what anniversary do they have? You know what? 20, maybe the 25th, bro, I'm thinking.

Speaker 2:

Decades, no one has ever really made a game like Pokemon. This is the first real iteration of it. It's been so dominant. Their patent on their capture mechanic again I'm assuming it's a capture mechanic because this makes the been so dominant. Their patent on their capture mechanic again I'm assuming it's a capture mechanic because this makes the most sense. Their patent on the capture mechanic likely was the 2022 patent, like it's madly in the game for you to do that my bet is they probably heard about power world's development and the power people.

Speaker 2:

probably had to clear it with them because of the nature of the game before starting development and when that happened they said, alright, we're going to patent this.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I mean, ever since Power had dropped, nintendo's been looking for something to get them with for the longest.

Speaker 2:

So it's like Feels petty.

Speaker 1:

Oh it 100% is.

Speaker 2:

Feels very Bad. I don't know what other word I could use to describe it. It's bad on many, many levels.

Speaker 1:

It's not too far from what Nintendo always do, though Nintendo is pretty anti-consumerist.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it is their MO.

Speaker 1:

They have like good games and stuff for the family though, but Nintendo don't care about the consumers for the most part with some of this stuff. When it comes to a lot of their stuff, they're quick to get you up and out of there real quick. The Smash community knows it all too well.

Speaker 2:

I'm surprised Smash is ending. Personally, I know you guys explained it to me. He's been doing it for a long time. He's sick of it, but that definitely did surprise me. I don't know why I was expecting a new Smash game to launch the Switch 2 or something.

Speaker 1:

Everybody do. Hey, we can all dream.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, that is fair, that is fair.

Speaker 1:

Plus, I don't even know how he would even beat this one. Literally almost everybody and their moms is there. Not everybody, though, but damn Just about. You know what?

Speaker 2:

he should do? What Put Anubis in that joint?

Speaker 1:

I would definitely play me some Super Smash with.

Speaker 2:

Anubis in it, from Power World Back a gun out. Oh man, just start shooting. Pikachu, I need it now. Charizard, where you going? Sakura, let's get it done. Everybody, I got a gat. What's up? All right, there's also well, gaming seems to be high on the agenda right now? Yeah, the state of play.

Speaker 1:

What was that? That was on Thursday. Yeah, today, friday, that was.

Speaker 2:

Wednesday. It was wednesday, yeah, I think it was like the 24th or something like that. Well, semantics doesn't really matter that much at this point, the dates are blending yeah, short stated state of play.

Speaker 1:

I think it was like uh, probably somewhere between like 20 and 30 minutes um isn't it always usually short, though they don't usually like usually keep it on for like longer than an hour.

Speaker 2:

I don't even think they usually hit an hour I didn't expect an hour, but I expected it to be a little longer, considering the time of year that we're in yeah and some what like game awards are coming up, tokyo game shows coming up.

Speaker 2:

Usually there's a lot to announce this time of year, um, so I thought maybe it'd be a longer state of play, with teasers for things that they would show full trailers for at tokyo game show or the game awards. But sorry, but it just seemed to be a regular run-of-the-mill state of play. The most significant one was the ghost of yotei oh, I cannot wait it looks like a theatrical trailer.

Speaker 2:

You know neckbeards are upset that she's a woman, right I wasn't even gonna address it because, quite frankly, I don't care. I, to be honest, giving these idiots a voice is very toxic, very, very toxic women.

Speaker 1:

Did they drop the year next year for it?

Speaker 2:

right, yes, 2025 yes, let's go yeah, so this is the thing that I guess is the only thing that we got a teaser for, that I'm expecting, like full gameplay stuff for at tokyo game show or at the game awards maybe the game awards I'm thinking more. The game awards that seems to be the place to do it now that more the speed e3 is dead. Well, has been dead, yeah, but yeah, there was that. There was also um what the heck was it called arc age arc age chronicles or saga or something chronicles.

Speaker 2:

I don't trust ign. They have it listed as a souls like. Doesn't really look like a souls like.

Speaker 1:

Looks very I think that's the most annoying part of this whole thing everybody swears every game is souls like I blame ign. I'm not even gonna blame elden ring, even though it's totally oh no, it's not elden rings wall, it's not souls, it's idiots fault and pretty much idiot gaming network.

Speaker 2:

That's what they're called now ign. I said what I said, but um, that looked really good, interesting.

Speaker 1:

I don't even know what kind of game it is.

Speaker 2:

It um it was just the trailer. The trailer didn't show any ui, so I can't tell what style of game it is, but my guess is that it's gonna be kind.

Speaker 1:

Kind of like God of War action-adventure type beat.

Speaker 2:

Crazy thing? Obviously, bosses Crazy thing. I'm thinking it's going to be somewhere between that and an RPG, like a straight-up RPG with potentially classes, because from the trailer I saw multiple different combat styles magic melee, different builds for characters, not like gear, gear and stuff, but builds is in like physical stature. So I'm guessing there's going to be some level of customization. Either that or you're going to be playing as multiple characters, which is also very interesting, which in that case I would expect there to be different skill trees, stuff like that. So it definitely seems like it would lean in the direction of being more action rpg focused, as opposed to being what it's weirdly being classified as a souls like. I feel like you see somebody swing a sword at something.

Speaker 2:

That's also swinging a sword or using magic as a souls like, but whatever just the boss.

Speaker 1:

Being um two feet taller than he was enough to be called a Souls-like apparently.

Speaker 2:

Yes. The surprise of that joint, though, was Wilds, monster Hunter Wilds. Everybody has been taking bets to see where the flagship would be announced. People were saying Tokyo Game Show, the Game Awards. Who would have thought it would be a PlayStation State of Play? You still haven't seen him, have you? I still have not seen it. No, you need to go, look at him.

Speaker 1:

He's beautiful. The only important thing that I needed to know February, february 28th Facts. That's the only important thing I really needed.

Speaker 2:

Yo, so is Sony and Capcom trying to like. I don't know, why are we getting the flagship, the release date, in a sony state of I'm not used to this, I'm just not, oh no it's just capcom I'm used to capcom releasing their own stuff, so it it caught me off guard, let's put it that way, but it's.

Speaker 1:

It looks very interesting and I mean it makes sense to um drop it during a press like State of Play, since the State of Play is what first before the Tokyo game thing that they got going on.

Speaker 2:

Right now Tokyo game show is not far, though I think it's a Sometime early October. I might be beefing on that. I got to look it up. We'll put something on the social media about it. But, um, the flagship release date, all that stuff just wasn't expected. They had a pretty sizable chunk of the experience and then they dropped more gameplay footage along with some intro stuff for the beginner hunters to teach them get acclimated to the game. It was pretty extensive for what it was for Monster Hunter Wild, so it was definitely a surprise, but also a nice one, I'll say that much.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

It's like lots of Sony titles.

Speaker 1:

Mm. Hmm, I know Tyler is hype, though he finally got his Legacy of Kain.

Speaker 2:

Oh yeah, that too. I've never played Legacy of Kain. It's a remake, right.

Speaker 1:

Remaster, yeah, remaster. Yeah the first two.

Speaker 2:

What console was that?

Speaker 1:

PlayStation 2. Oh, that's old, no, no.

Speaker 2:

PlayStation. Oh, that's old, old, yeah, I love. Oh, that's old, old, yeah, I love that for you guys. I love that for you guys. Finally, good, yeah, even uh and uh. They went. Look at that. You were saying horizon, right, oh, what horizon. Zero dawn is getting a remaster, not a remake. Man, what updates for the ps5 that are supposed to make the graphics and stuff I'm not gonna hold you.

Speaker 1:

That's just news for me align with uh, part two.

Speaker 2:

I personally not buying it. I've played the game a couple of times. It's not for us. That's the way I'm looking at it. If you're new to gaming and you, let's say, you're somebody younger, you got a playstation 5 recently. You've never played horizon zero dawn all you got's two on your PlayStation 5. That's a PlayStation 5 game. You're going to gravitate towards that and you'll probably want to play the first one because the story is so intense. So it doesn't really.

Speaker 2:

I'm not mad about it. I'm snoozing. I'm not mad about it. It's not something I'm going to pick up because I don't need it. I'm not mad about it also they seem to be trending in the direction where these remakes are put for free on.

Speaker 1:

That's after like um, a couple of, yeah, like a year or so down the line from it, though it's not like they actually it's not even they're dropping out on release for um for people to get for free not even last of us is free now.

Speaker 1:

They just did the ps5 remake now, that's been out for a minute, though that's not like new, new or recent, recent the ps5 remake of the last of us, wait last of us yeah, because, like last of us, had about like three or four damn near remakes or remasters yeah, yeah, that, that well, that's what I'm trying to get at they also had a remaster of the second one, which was unnecessary considering that that was already out. On the five, that is one you should be mad about.

Speaker 2:

I'm just mad at it in general, yeah, but they they do a decent amount, but it's really I don't mind it because it updates the game to match with the hardware so that people can play the older games, because I get very frustrated playing those PlayStation classics.

Speaker 1:

If it's on PlayStation, if we're getting a remake for a PS5 game on PlayStation 6, all right, cool, whatever. But if it's already on the PS5 and it's getting a remaster, that's a waste.

Speaker 2:

That didn't make any sense to me. Unless you're making actual changes that you wanted to make to the game, which they never do, honestly, yeah.

Speaker 1:

The Last of us is usually always the same game just updated. Give me another freaking um uncharted dynasty warriors, I haven't played a dynasty warriors game in a minute, but I'll be hype, hype for what it's.

Speaker 2:

Look, bro, it's. You're gonna be mashing square for 10 hours that's the experience, bro.

Speaker 1:

Games like that, dynasty Warriors, samurai Wars that's the experience man. It's garbage.

Speaker 2:

Let the franchise die. Find something else.

Speaker 1:

They gave us a what you call it Rebrand yourself. They gave us a Legend of Zelda, one which was dope.

Speaker 2:

But Legend of Zelda is not usually a Musou.

Speaker 1:

But they gave us a Musou Legend of Zelda and it was gas.

Speaker 2:

That's fine. That's something that's not usually a Musou. This thing releases the same way since the PlayStation 2.

Speaker 1:

I also think that this one they got you doing like a new character altogether. I don't think the character has any historical background or anything.

Speaker 2:

I don't know None of their names.

Speaker 1:

Damn bro.

Speaker 2:

None of their names, and I could care less. Dong Ning Nope.

Speaker 1:

I'm not even going to bring up names.

Speaker 2:

I'm just going to be sitting here like mm-mm shaking my head. Nope, mm-mm. Nope, not with me, nope.

Speaker 1:

I do remember that they had sorry. I Nope that what I mean? Nope, I do remember that they had sorry. I do remember that they had one Dynasty Warriors game. I can't remember the name of it. I think it came out on like the PSP and it was like them pretty much going Super Saiyan and shit. Like Lubu was on top of a demonic cat.

Speaker 2:

I'm solid, bro. You're wasting my time. You're wasting my time. You're throwing pretty colors on the same thing over and over again.

Speaker 1:

Oh, no, no, no Like they was actually having like Sentai, like Power Rangers transformations type stuff. It was kind of crazy. Pretty colors.

Speaker 2:

Because you still, at the end of the day, mashed box. You mashed the square button for dear life. Let me stop ragging on Dynasty Warriors, but this was in the state of play. That's why I'm so mad, you know what I mean?

Speaker 1:

the state of play was solid till I saw that it aggravated me, I just skipped through it on. So wait a minute. Are you saying that you was hyped for?

Speaker 2:

uh, horizon zero dawn, lego collection oh no, I didn't care about that. I didn't care about any of the horizon related news.

Speaker 1:

Unless they said horizon three, I was like, okay, whatever no, we're not gonna get a three sony's, too busy milking one and two I think it's in preparation for three.

Speaker 2:

It's already been what? Two years since the last one watch.

Speaker 1:

Has it been? Has um? Has two actually been out for two years now?

Speaker 2:

yeah, probably about. So it's been a while, been a while and they and they announced the development of three like they did, truly yeah see, I haven't played two so it I don't think it's far away and it is not a. It's not a. It's not random that part one gets a remaster for playstation 5. It's not random.

Speaker 1:

It's not necessary. Though there's a is is the point, it's not necessary, it's not needed I would disagree.

Speaker 2:

I think it is needed, particularly for newer people. That's the only reason, and I'm not gonna buy it, so I don't really care that much.

Speaker 1:

This, though, segues into your biggest gripe what the pro, also the reason I think horizon is coming man, I saw I ain't gonna lie, I'm sleeping on a pro bro.

Speaker 2:

I slept on pro. I am still sleeping on pro as well. I'm snoozing on it.

Speaker 2:

I feel like if you have a PlayStation five, unless you're doing breaks, there's no reason for you to buy it. Like at all. No need Like at all Like it. It's no need like at all like it. It's a faster console, it's got better graphics, but it's not like it's gonna revolutionize your gameplay experience. You know what I mean, unless you just exactly it's not like. If you don't have one. Yeah, you would probably be better off getting this if you already have one shut up yeah, I mean like if you just have a p4, then yeah, but yeah, just like, yes, like, keep playing your video games or just get the ps5, because I think the ps5 is cheaper than it.

Speaker 2:

Right, it probably is this will probably push the price for the ps5 down even more. So it's not like there's a lot of implications for it, do I think it was? It's like worth the price point. The price point's aggressive, but that's probably not sony's fault all the way. It's an expensive console. To make less inflation, everything's more expensive. I think this is very aggressive, though 700 for a console is kind of wild at that point, just get a pc why you want me financing my console.

Speaker 2:

I used to pay like 450450 for this joint Help. I'm about to be treating consoles like cell phones. We have to get a Sony plan.

Speaker 1:

Nah, if you ever get to that territory, bro, t-sony bro On PC.

Speaker 2:

T-Sony. We buying up all the carriers.

Speaker 1:

Sony you do that shit, bro, you do that shit. Don you do that shit, bro, you do that shit. Don't do that shit going straight over the pc all right?

Speaker 2:

so yeah, not the longest one, but some interesting.

Speaker 1:

Oh, you got something else you forgot about the collab bro what collab overwatch and my hero? Oh yeah, I did forget about that honestly, the only time I may spend um blizzard may get money from me it's only when there's a reinhardt skin damn man reinhardt actually gets some good ass skins that all might skin for soldier skin is lit.

Speaker 2:

I have to get it because I have all of them, but you know, that's just fine. That's just fine Like he got the one recently with the the wolf ice robbery one. Got that bling bling in his ears. He got a little man bun. He got a wolf mask on with a bag of cash on his back. Why wouldn't I buy that? Take my money, blizzard, just for now. I'm, you know, I'm definitely investing in this.

Speaker 1:

Don't make no more collabs, though, because I'm truly not trying to give you any more money, though, for real.

Speaker 2:

I don't mind anymore. See, that's you. I think they're doing okay. They're satisfying my needs as a player for now. So, yeah, I'll reward you For now. For now, oh, oh, the funniest part though. What? Juno got a skin before the chiptooth bitch.

Speaker 1:

What's the chiptooth one?

Speaker 2:

named again Venture. They dropped her in the game and just dropped her in the game. They're not going to give her no skin. I think her hero popularity is probably really low. They were like, do we want to make a skin for her?

Speaker 1:

Juno's going to be the new Tracer anyway, so Juno's going to definitely get skins. Chipmunk Tooth, girl Venture, you said.

Speaker 2:

She ain't getting none bro.

Speaker 1:

She'll be lucky to get Battle Pass skins.

Speaker 2:

That's rude. That's rude. The battle pass skins are too cool for her, though. That's facts. Um, that was pretty cool, though. Mm-hmm, deku Tracer just doesn't sit well in my spirit though it don't.

Speaker 1:

Who could they have given Deku to? Doomfist, let me stop actually I'm surprised Doomfist, Let me stop. Actually I'm surprised Doomfist didn't get all might. Put the green no.

Speaker 2:

No, no, there's a perfectly good. There's a perfectly good, super brolic blonde man in the game already he was right there. Leave him alone. Ryan deserves that. You know what?

Speaker 1:

Doomfist needed the Deku wig. Nah, he needed a Miracle Skin.

Speaker 2:

No, what's the rule about? What's the porn rule on this?

Speaker 1:

Yo.

Speaker 2:

Damn. Stop giving Doomfist skins. You're just encouraging people to play him. Stop, he needs.

Speaker 1:

He gets too many skins nah, you don't get too many skins, you don't get enough. I'm not fighting with you on this.

Speaker 2:

You don't even play the game. Look, he don't get enough new year's resolution. I ain't fighting with nobody, you know. Yeah, you're right, yeah sure he gets skins.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, he gets. Not like reinhardt, though. New Year's resolution I ain't fighting with nobody, you know. Yeah, you're right. Sure he gets skins. Yeah, not like Reinhardt, though, or Tracer.

Speaker 2:

Or Reaper. Reaper gets all the skins when You're listing off all the characters I like except Tracer, right, he's not Soldier 76. Leave me alone. You don't even get that many. No more, bro, but let me have this. He's not Soldier 76. Leave me alone. You don't even get that many. No more, bro, but let me have this. He's not Kiriko. Her skins are so cool. See, her skins are fire though.

Speaker 1:

He's not like Genji, or See, he don't get enough skins.

Speaker 2:

He has a. I'm not arguing with you about this. You know what? Fuck this. It's been a mid-ass summer. Before that, though, I am waiting, and it better not be Doomfist related. Nah, nah, nah.

Speaker 1:

But have you heard about that indie publisher though Annapurna? What is that? They are a publisher and they publish a bunch of indie games. Love Mayor, it happens, I'm sorry.

Speaker 2:

This man patting his head over here, like I thought bro, oh, why'd I do it to Over here? Over here, copying man, hey, hey, I was just demonstrating to who. Myself, yo all right, what about this publisher? Anyway, the whole entire staff quit, Alright.

Speaker 1:

What about this publisher?

Speaker 2:

Anyway, the whole entire staff quit, oh, they quit, yeah, so yeah, Y'all had laying people off. They said nah, I'm out. Y'all can do this by yourself.

Speaker 1:

I think the reason they all left, though, was it was like a dispute or something with the leadership that they had.

Speaker 2:

Oh, what else could it be? Yeah, you got people passionate about creating a product that they love, and then you got people trying to make the product make money. I don't see where the disconnect could go from.

Speaker 1:

Yo oh jesus it's been a very rough year for tech gaming.

Speaker 2:

All that yeah, all those. Uh, man covid really jacked everything up, bro. It made the market move in such a weird direction for everything food, between inflation and how it's affecting like employment and all the jobs that came up that are now not necessary because we're back to doing the things that we're doing.

Speaker 1:

Damn he may just be cooked for real, bro, the lack of like.

Speaker 2:

Let's be real here. Video games were booming in covid, why everybody was locked down. Now nobody's really locked down. Ain't nobody buying that much video games. All that staff for development gotta go somewhere. Welcome to the unemployment market. This isn't funny, by the way no, it's, it's been crazy it's. I'm laughing because I'm in danger yeah, I think that's the best way to sum it up. It it really makes you wonder, bro, like what value do you really hold as an employee? Like for not even being any.

Speaker 1:

It's even worse now with all this other stuff too. About ai, I think, like just the other day, um, or maybe like a couple of weeks back, I think, the lion's gate had finally inked off about using AI, voice, ai for voice acting and stuff like that and it's just like, or like they signed with I can't remember the company, though, but they signed to use pretty much AI for like all their library and stuff like that, for the voices and stuff, so it's just like cook it's really become voice actors from gaming side and dealing with that whole stuff.

Speaker 1:

Sag over there going back over after the whole strike with writers and actors and stuff. Then they going right back over and saying, yeah, nah, cool, you can use AI for a voice act and that's pretty fine.

Speaker 2:

It's really easy when things like this happen mass layoffs, changes in the market, changes in the economy to just chalk it up to one thing. But on a macro level, it's never just one thing. All these things play a part in it, you know what I mean. And the ease of getting things done technology wise. Now it really has done something to the demand for jobs in a lot of industries and we can't just straight up parse blame out some, some people who, some companies are marketing because they're forced to do certain things. Now you know what I mean, like the patterns of releases, like how much things are costing. It's all just a consequence of life. So, god damn, I really am just becoming very jaded I just don't care.

Speaker 2:

You know what I mean, I just I realized that it just is what it is. It just is what it is like. It just is what it is Like. So many people have been laid off, so many people Like, I think, at this point, hundreds of thousands of people in the gaming industry have been laid off.

Speaker 1:

It's not even just the gaming.

Speaker 2:

No, I'm talking specifically about gaming right now.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Hundreds of thousands of people have been laid off.

Speaker 1:

And that's just in gaming.

Speaker 2:

Tech Probably significantly worse because a lot of these companies were using stay-at-home workers.

Speaker 1:

It was mad startups. And now look at the startups, let alone. Not even just startups, just even big companies Microsoft.

Speaker 2:

Just kicking people out your company. They can't pay people anymore, bro. They just can't. They don't need people for certain things. They don't have jobs for people, and it's not because they don't want to have jobs for people.

Speaker 2:

Man, this shit is so terrible yo, if you, if you went back in time to when covid was going on and the, you saw the projections for these gaming. I've looked at the research. I can't, like I'm not gonna be able to like quote things and cite things to you, but the projections during covid it doesn't seem that they took into account the impact covid would have once we come out. I think the expectation was the demand will always be there because of the popularity of gaming. Yes, it'll be there, but kovid was a very unique experience and this is the consequence of it. Like, genuinely, this is the consequence of it. We saw how it affected the availability of consoles. It's been what five years since the ps5 released uh, it's been a five or four.

Speaker 2:

I'll be real, I don't it's been a while and it's only been like so long, man it was like uh, it feels almost like a blip bro and it's um consoles are like a it feels almost like a blip. Bro and it's um consoles are recently becoming readily available. Like within the last year and a half, you can go reliably go to a store and grab something off the shelf.

Speaker 1:

Now the reason why I think that pro decision is stupid as fuck, though, but that's just me right, neither here nor there I'm not saying it's a great decision.

Speaker 2:

I'm just choosing to ignore it because it doesn't affect me until it does and, to be quite honest, even if my ps5 broke tomorrow, I'd probably just go buy another ps5 and bro, you really are a cook bro, I just understand the reality of it and I know what I want, I know what, what I need, and just yeah, I think personally.

Speaker 2:

I think if we all thought like this, we would low key, pigeonhole companies into doing what we want. But nobody thinks like that because everybody goes and buys a shiny new thing, which is what's going to happen with the pro. By the way, it's probably going to be the best selling console, I don't think is not but that they had that Sony.

Speaker 2:

Yes, the best-selling console, I don't think is not, but that they had that sony. Yes, because of the price, because of how many units they're gonna sell, because of the games that are coming out, because of the bundles that they're gonna do for the games and how, because the games that they're announcing this year are crazy.

Speaker 1:

I definitely think drones are 100, gonna buy that yes, that's just what it is, bro.

Speaker 2:

People complain about it, but I think yeah, I mean, this is people's fault.

Speaker 1:

I think it's, yeah it, it is what it is at this point exactly.

Speaker 2:

This is just cook, this is genuinely just the consumer you see what you did microsoft.

Speaker 1:

You see what you didn't yeah, they cooked themselves, bro.

Speaker 2:

That game pass was an epic failure, oh we now?

Speaker 2:

we're just stuck with both sony and nintendo bro, this really turned into a gaming episode, man bro, okay, I'm gonna say something to you. You might find this controversial, right? Xbox sold themselves because they wanted to be like sony and they oversold themselves Because making all those games free at launch is a stupid decision. I think Sony's model of how they use the PlayStation Plus to make exclusives available post-release like significantly post-release for free, is a much better model, because there are people like me who will wait every year because we know for a fact the game is going to be free. I have not paid for fifa in like three years and it's a game I play every year, despite being frustrated with it.

Speaker 1:

That's fifa man. Well, to be fair, that's like sports games always um. Sports games always run like that with um. They just, they just usually run like that. They just usually run like that.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, sony's leaned into it. Their exclusives, their significant ones, are on the PS Plus Pass. Once it gets to a good point, pass post-launch they put it on there.

Speaker 1:

But which tier though?

Speaker 2:

Because I don't think it's on the essential tier.

Speaker 1:

I don't think it's like on the. I don't think that matters, bro. I don't think I mean like if I think it do matter, depending on what area of um subscription that you have. If it's not on like on the readily available, like the easiest well, not easiest, but the obvious lowest one, or however way it is, then yeah, just like we'd have to need hell no, I'm not putting it on that hell.

Speaker 2:

No, if I make it, no hold on. This is my perspective. If I'm making a triple a game, an exclusive from my console, and I'm still giving it to you for free, pay for a higher than average subscription I'll just wait for it on pc.

Speaker 1:

You keep, it's gonna be better on pc. Anyway, I get to mod that that's fine.

Speaker 2:

I like that. I think mods are really cool. I think mods are important to gaming because they generate creativity. I love that. I am all for things releasing on PC post-launch, but I think that's the same damn principle. And then you go on PC and you buy it.

Speaker 1:

You pay a full price for it, not I, I. And then you go on PC and you buy it.

Speaker 2:

You pay a full price for it, not I. I wait for the sales, but it's launched at full price, mad people pay for it at full price, right?

Speaker 1:

I guess I'm pretty sure they do, though.

Speaker 2:

We all going to have the PlayStation Plus subscription. The difference between the base package and the other one is a few dollars a month If pay for them yearly. You, bro, if you're already paying 100 bucks for the yearly subscription, you're not gonna feel this shit, monica, hey, you know what.

Speaker 1:

Now I got beef with subscriptions in general there's always supposed to be beef with subscriptions.

Speaker 2:

Yo, the way I think about things is really crack-headed, bro. I hate subscriptions I just buy subscriptions I think we're not getting away from subscriptions.

Speaker 1:

We're not, we're not, we're cooked because every everybody needs, not everybody needs descriptions. Companies want to make everything a subscription it's been made extremely convenient.

Speaker 2:

You can't even front. It's extremely convenient, like ridiculously convenient, particularly for gaming.

Speaker 1:

I think I'm going to go be a pirate.

Speaker 2:

Live your best life, bro. I encourage piracy. If you can tell, I'm just free, I want to be free. Whatever you want to do with your gaming, whatever you like, whatever you don't like, don't like it, don't love it Just be free. You want to do with your gaming whatever you like, whatever you don't like, don't like it, don't love it, just be free, go like it, go love it.

Speaker 1:

I said don't like it, I didn't mean that, go like it, go love it, be free. Okay, man, you know, when I get back home I want to actually mod up my uh, my steam deck some more.

Speaker 2:

I could use more games on that and I look forward to hearing you rant about the playstation pro, bro. I look forward to hearing you rant about the PlayStation Pro, bro. I look forward to hearing you rant about the PlayStation Pro.

Speaker 1:

Sony ain't getting my money. They're $70 damn plates.

Speaker 2:

That's a fact, though.

Speaker 1:

They smoking dick. I'm sorry.

Speaker 2:

The plates are kind of outrageous $75. That's a whole controller, Speaking of which I need a controller.

Speaker 1:

Those colors for those controllers, I will admit.

Speaker 2:

You saw the $4.91? $4.91. I'll show it to you later.

Speaker 1:

We'll talk about it later.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Midsummer, you said.

Speaker 2:

A mid-ass summer. I committed to a lot of anime this summer.

Speaker 1:

See, I told you, I told you, the summer was asleep.

Speaker 2:

I tried, I gave it a shot and I'm a call somebody out by me who are you calling, it's not even the whole name. No one remembers me. I don't even remember you when I tell you this was a disappointment disappointment this was it even about, bro.

Speaker 2:

So I'm a geek of super spark notes. Dude lives in a world, lived in a world where humans conquered the other, uh, celestial races. Humans are the lower race, don't know how, haven't explained it. Yet they had someone who was super strong, named sid. That's the first. It's always a sid. That's the first like oh my god, this is so dumb to me, kind of a red flag in my head, but I watched it anyway. So mysteriously, he gets transported to an alternate version of his world where no one remembers him and humans never won and sid is missing from this world. I wonder, I sincerely wonder. And no, I don't think he's sid, obviously from the. Obviously sid's the villain, sid's the villain, and bored more as you go.

Speaker 2:

The only reason I continue to watch this and I'm going to finish it it was too invested. I was hopeful it's not invested. I was hopeful that it would pick up. I thought, all right. I saw the animation for the first major fight. It looked like this joint was released in like the 2010s. Can't be that bad. I'm gonna show it to you after this. It looks like it was released in the 2010s, bro. There's no fluidity. There was a lot of use of like still frames. Um, the effects were not utilized properly. I think this was a lower budget anime than it was presented as, and when it delivered it just wasn't what it was hyped up to be. Ouch, yeah, and the story is not good enough to carry it. It's a very standard harem. It's a very standard. I don't even want to call it time loop, alternate dimension hopping. It's just some BS, some celestial.

Speaker 1:

BS Don't do anything, doesn't bring anything, no substance.

Speaker 2:

It doesn't feel fresh, nothing new with it, yeah, and I feel like that was the theme of the whole summer season. I think there were. To me there were like three standouts from the non-regular stuff, like my Hero, fairy Tail, stuff like that. Those are going to get watched because those are long-running series. The standouts to me were Makine, which was A Slice of Life, makine there are too many losing heroines. I think that was the best thing I watched this season. Damn. Very, very good plot. The characters are likable, some relatable. The animation was exquisite, even for a slice of life. The main character is highly intelligent, I don't mean like math book intelligent, like emotionally intelligent, weirdly so for a high schooler. I actually find him a very interesting MC for A Slice of Life. But it's definitely one of those stories you look at and you're like, damn, this is actually really chill to watch and it makes you feel good watching it. It generates a lot of emotions because there's some very emotional, intense scenes in there.

Speaker 1:

You know how long it is, because it's not going to continue on into the fall, right I?

Speaker 2:

think tomorrow is the last episode for this season. I don't think it's going to get a second core run, but I think it will get renewed for a season two.

Speaker 1:

Okay.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, there was also Alia. Sometimes hides her feelings in German. That one, I think, was pretty good Russian. There you go. I keep saying German, that one's pretty good, animation's good Story's, decent, mc's interesting. He's very interesting, he's popular, he's got swag, he's like he's popular, he's got swag, but he's not like throwing it around, like he's not an obnoxious, like pretty boy, he's a very like calculated character.

Speaker 1:

He knows what, like he knows his shit, his slinks, or like, how are we going with it?

Speaker 2:

Oh no, he's very much like a. What do they call it? Harry Sue with it. Oh no, he's very much like a. What do they call it? Harry sue, harry, whatever. He's one of those characters where, like he doesn't really mess up, but also it's not like it's thrown in your face. When the moment arises for him to do something, he delivers. That's how it's framed, okay, and he kind of just lets the world happen around him. In comparison, you get what I'm saying yeah, yeah, all right. And the other one I would say is um crap. I was just watching this yesterday what is?

Speaker 2:

it is a guy yes, the one with the high school kids and the dude gets sent to the dungeon to die. Oh, um failure frame or failure frame. Animation sucks. It's fine. It's so freaking choppy, oh my gosh, it is terrible, but I don't know why I love it.

Speaker 1:

Also that elf girl or whoever was with him, she wants him. Oh D, she is lusty bro. Oh man over here like saying oh man, I'm just too, I'm just too stuck up in revenge. Yeah, it's definitely one of those man. I would have forgot about that revenge for a minute when I watch it turn my brain off.

Speaker 2:

The plot is not overly complicated, the animation kind of sucks it's for those listening.

Speaker 1:

It's your standard usual standard usual isekai I just want to see the lick back a lot of the characters are do nothings, like they're pretty bland. It's like what you usually would expect from this type of style of. Isekai of a person being wronged and then wanting to get the lick back.

Speaker 2:

It's not like it's not going to break the internet If anything, it's like Isekai junk food. Yeah, pretty much. Exactly. Just Isekai junk food. That's all I had for the summer, bro, bro, I ain't feel like talking about nothing else.

Speaker 1:

Everything else is pretty typical uh, one that I'm actually vibing with is that, um, hold on, let me get the name of it, but it's uh no longer allowed in another world oh, you know what?

Speaker 2:

I'm? A dirtbag, because there's three that I haven't started other than waiting for the finish. That is one of them it's a good one the other one is monogatari, and then the other one is, uh, elusive samurai um, I gotta catch up on the loop.

Speaker 1:

Actually I gotta start elusive. I catch up on it, but I gotta start it. Um, and I also gotta start the mission yozari one, yozakura yeah, yozakura, still haven't started.

Speaker 2:

That I gotta catch up. I don gotta catch up.

Speaker 1:

Feels very generic, gives me big hitman vibes hitman reborn gives me big hitman vibes pretty much for no longer allowed MC. He's not OP, which I enjoy, but he's also OP which I, which I enjoy. But he's also not necessarily a fighter, he's just an author at the end of the day he just wants to die that too he also wants to die.

Speaker 2:

He just wants to like get.

Speaker 1:

He just wants to get up out of here bro he don't care about how it's done, he just wants to be out.

Speaker 2:

They just won't let him. I am definitely interested in that one, though it does seem like a pretty cool premise and he looks very, uh, depressed and vampire lordy. So it's because he's always sick.

Speaker 1:

He's. He's literally chewing. He's literally popping perks. Oh god, like my man is literally popping poison, like it's tic tac, he's just sir stop.

Speaker 2:

So he's just always you know what stop. What are you doing?

Speaker 1:

you got it, you got it, you got it but but it's, you know, um, pretty cool, um, when they it's kind of like a isekai that has, has depth or a bit when it comes, when it's explaining we're not necessarily explaining but when it's talking about some of the characters in the world, even some of the characters outside of the world, because pretty much everybody not everybody though, but it's a world that summons people, truck, coon talk is like on the payroll, so people just getting yeeted into the world and stuff, and obviously you know the whole Like on the payroll. So people just getting yeeted into the world and stuff, and obviously you know the whole. You need to defeat the demon lord, or stuff like that.

Speaker 2:

That double overtime work bro.

Speaker 1:

Mm-hmm, but it's interesting Poor guy.

Speaker 2:

I'm excited to watch that, though. Definitely one of the ones I think will be fun.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, nah, nah, it's good, it's been enjoyable. The other one, the osan luby adventurer oh, that's a big skip for me.

Speaker 2:

I don't know why.

Speaker 1:

I think it's the way he looks. He do look very generic, he looks very npc, he looks uninteresting, he looks npc-ish, but the funny thing is he's just surrounded by monsters. He's a monster himself, obviously, to be surrounded by, you know, just nothing but monsters and dying for two years straight.

Speaker 2:

So you have to be a monster yeah, kind of just like develop the gene at that point but it's good though.

Speaker 1:

Um I've been enjoying it. That's been fun yeah, again it's also kind of funny how bad they traumatize this man. He for the longest like I shouldn't say for the longest not for the longest.

Speaker 1:

I had to think back. I'm like double taking on it, but pretty much long story just to get an idea of it. It's this dude who, um, was working at a guild receptionist. He made it all the way up to 30s. He wanted to be an adventurer, though, but couldn't be a venture, you know, couldn't develop anything. So he was just working as a receptionist and one day just said screw it all, I just want to actually live my dream and be an adventurer. So he goes out to be an adventurer. My man's in his 30's. He takes like two years just off training with people, comes right back as a buffed up monster. You already know One hit Everybody else. Seeing him, jesus Christ.

Speaker 2:

Nothing's a challenge for him. You just keep getting more and more uninteresting.

Speaker 1:

No, but here's the funny part. Is it ha ha funny? No, they have some funny moments, but is it ha ha funny?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, okay, all right, all right.

Speaker 1:

I'll give it a go. I love a good comedy pretty much my home, pretty much. Homie is just like he thinks he's terrible, he like, he don't. He doesn't realize how strong he is until he's like and then thankfully they don't like last too long with that um, with like saying oh yeah, no, I'm not strong enough, type beat. They solved that relatively quick though, but it's just like the simple fact on that hellish training that they had mans with hey man, you got to get strong.

Speaker 2:

somehow, brody, You're going to have to work it out.

Speaker 1:

Bro, my man will be dying in these trainings. And then they just res him. There's like a big giant orc and he's just been like alright, let me use healing magic and just resurrect him from the dead. You know what? Let's continue your training.

Speaker 2:

You got it, bro. You got it, bro. You're gonna res me to die again. I'd be upset For two years straight. I'd be upset. You could not speak to me. You put your hands on me while I'm dead. I might kick you while I'm still dead.

Speaker 1:

Like everybody's an S-rank for this party and it's just him.

Speaker 2:

Get your hands off me.

Speaker 1:

Oh Jesus, Obviously the one that has been on'm pretty sure, everybody's list with storia, wand and sword totally forgot about talk about that.

Speaker 2:

It was just you know what. You know what my brain did. You know exactly what my brain did, remember when I said all the regular stuff yeah, that joint just immediately went into the regular stuff because that joint is just so heat.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, nah, it's gas. Animation is beautiful. Pretty much you're like your Mashal, my boy Will. He ain't got no magic though, but he still got these hands to fuck you up, I found stuff out. I went down the rabbit hole. Not funny. But oh, wait a minute, you was reading it.

Speaker 2:

I'm about to start, now that the season's over. I went down the rabbit hole, bro, I'm cooked. Oh no, I'm just a Wistoria fan now.

Speaker 1:

But you've been looking at what wiki notes.

Speaker 2:

No, not that far down the rabbit hole. I just looked at the most recent chapter. This is what I do. Okay, if I run into, like uh, an anime that I like that's currently ongoing as a manga, what I'll do go to the most recent chapter or somewhere close, just to get a vibe oh, now you're a maniac, you're crazy.

Speaker 2:

And if the vibe is, right now you're wilding we get in there like swimwear. Okay, that's how I figure out. If I want to read something. I just do a quick like let me glance at it. That look cool, go back. Then I go back to wherever I left off in the in the anime. But no wisteria is on my list. He, it definitely does have some. I just happened to pop in on some really popping shit I bet. I was like I'll bet it was. I creaked the door open. It was fucking so. I was like, hey, let me see what's going on, I'll see my way out. I walked out. I'm gonna go see what the beginning of this looked like. I'm not a creep, right, come on. Nah, look, I love it. Okay, leave me alone. Anyway, you got another one. Nah, some has been trash OD. I just wanted to point that out. I love it. Okay, leave me alone. Anyway, you got another one. Nah, some has been trash OD. I just wanted to point that out.

Speaker 1:

Aside from, obviously, the other usual stuff, my Hero, ongoing things like that, they are obviously good. Slime was, you know, same thing, speaking of Slime, got season 4, but we already knew it was getting there.

Speaker 2:

I ain't even finished the second half of season 3, bro.

Speaker 1:

Once you get past um zoom meetings, it gets good I know I got past the zoom meetings.

Speaker 2:

I just forgot okay.

Speaker 1:

Well, it's slime. You already know how slime does with. Do their world building? Yeah, slow this is. This is technically a slow season. Oh d not much um popping off, right I need better stuff from slime.

Speaker 2:

Wake up, um. With that being said, there is actually one last summer show that I want to talk about a little bit Tower of God. I'm gonna be real with you. This whole manhwa to anime thing I don't know what's gotten into these people.

Speaker 1:

How is it? Because I've been hearing mixed things about it where a lot of people are not messing with the anime for it? Obviously the manhwa people if you read the manhwa people are fucking with it.

Speaker 2:

But if you did not read the manhwa, you gonna think the animation's trash. Okay, okay, if you're not familiar with how siu draws, you will think the animation's trash. This is exceedingly faithful to his art style. Like od, like I look at it, it's tower, tower of God To the bones. The way the Shinsu looks, the way the characters look, the way the outfits look. It is so faithful visually. I don't remember every detail of the part that they're up to, but from what I've seen, watching up to the point they are now, I think this is going to run two cores, by the way, not sure I got to look it up.

Speaker 1:

I think I might have saw something about it in the list for fall.

Speaker 2:

Might have Don't quote me on it. If it doesn't, the cliffhanger is going to be weird as hell.

Speaker 1:

Unless they.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, the cliffhanger will be weird as hell, unless they there's crunchyroll studios.

Speaker 1:

That's doing it.

Speaker 2:

That's animated right yeah, I think it's gonna.

Speaker 1:

It might just be a short one? I don't think, because the first one didn't have a second car yeah, but then they killed it.

Speaker 2:

They killed it for a while after that. I don't think they had any plans to do a season two until recently when they actually did the. Well, let me not say recently, but I don't think when they first did season one they were gonna continue it because crunchyroll exclusives, like they kind of disappeared after the whole god of high school and tower of god debacle I didn't think tower of god was bad.

Speaker 1:

Um, god of high school was definitely bad because they they rushed the hell out of it. They butchchered it.

Speaker 2:

Tower of God. People were saying that it wasn't as bad as God of High School, but it was definitely rushed relative to what it was Because there was some stuff missing from the finale of the test that should have been included. That wasn't, which is fine Not going to complain about it Because overall pretty good. Season 2, so far feels significantly better Actually made me go back and start catching up on the monologue. Don't talk to me, I'm in the tower of God rabbit hole again. I used to Don't expose yourself. I'm not going to expose myself today. So anyway, I think that has been, as far as new stuff goes. That has been the real sleeper of this season. Really, yeah, I think it's my infatuation.

Speaker 1:

That's not really all that new, it's ongoing.

Speaker 2:

I think it's my infatuation with Bam as a character. I think it's my infatuation with the Bam as a character, cause this is the point where In the story, where Bam starts to take on A life of his own as a person and start to act more independently when he joins FUG. Well, he's not acting on his own ambitions, cause obviously you remember the context, he's like being controlled by FUG, but he expresses himself Much more differently and you know his progression is a slow burn because even up until the arc on the train, on the child train with white, he was still, he wasn't a bitch, but he hesitated in certain things. This is that point where you see that development for bam, from going to the weak, problematic idiot who's easily manipulated, to someone who is wiser, physically and mentally stronger, and his characterization.

Speaker 1:

Still trust in Rachel.

Speaker 2:

Hell, no, we all know he don't trust that little hoe. Hell, no, we all know he don't trust that little hoe, but his characterization, what is, has been so significant to the people around him and the portrayal of it, the voice acting, it's just fire, bro, it's been, it's been a good, it's been a good first quarter for season two, so I I'm really enjoying it. It also just reminded me of what the question of the week is gonna be. The question is who is on your list as your most hated characters in anime and manga, or manhua, you know whichever? Keep it mixy. If you like chinese comics, keep it mixy. We won't know who you're talking about, though. Just going to put that out there. But yes, who's your most hated character in anime and manga? Let us know.

Speaker 1:

You know where to hit us at for that In Another World Pod on Instagram, in Another World Podcast on Facebook, truckoon Talk for Twitter, and we also got our YouTube page, so hit that up as well.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, like, share, comment, subscribe, let me stop. No, no, you best subscribe, though. Subscribe. What did the dude say? Subscribe? Yup, who do that? I forgot it was an old YouTube video, anyway.

Speaker 1:

We catch y'all later. Love you Bye.
